As a Business Development Representative, you will play a vital role in generating demand for our platform and solutions within your market segment. Your focus will be on qualifying leads and generating prospects that translate into real revenue opportunities, acting as a key link to our Account Executive team.

You will establish yourself as a credible industry profile and a thought leader in your territory. By representing Xero at various events, you will attract high-value partners and help grow our market share, directly contributing to our mission of making small business life beautiful.

You will work as part of a coordinated team that values transparency and diverse perspectives to create a positive impact. This role involves close collaboration with the sales team to refine lead generation strategies and ensure a seamless handover of opportunities to Account Managers.

Initially, you will focus on

  • Executing outbound campaigns using phone, email, and social media to reach prospective accountants and bookkeepers.

  • Hosting and arranging Xero events for prospective partners throughout South Africa to build brand presence.

  • Researching potential partners and identifying key decision-makers to build a high-quality pipeline.

  • Utilising Salesforce to maintain accurate records and track the progress of all prospecting activities.

This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office) based in our Cape Town office.

  • You bring a proven background in outbound sales and have a knack for generating business leads through multiple channels.

  • A natural communicator, you can build trusting relationships with stakeholders and articulate value with clarity.

  • You possess a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt quickly to new technology and software in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical skills are part of your toolkit, allowing you to assess performance and optimise your approach for maximum lead generation.

  • You are a team player who enjoys thinking outside the box to acquire new partners and solve problems creatively.

  • Detail-oriented and organised, you take pride in maintaining high-quality data and managing your territory effectively.
