The role & impact

As the Head of Marketing for EMEA, you will play a pivotal role in supercharging the success of small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers across the region. Reporting to the GM (General Manager) of Growth Marketing for Emerging Markets, you will lead a regional function that develops and delivers tailored marketing plans to drive brand engagement and commercial growth. Your work will directly contribute to building a stronger economy by connecting small businesses with essential technology and a supportive community.

You will lead a talented team to implement a variety of multi-channel campaigns and tactical initiatives that achieve clear, measurable outcomes. By balancing strategic planning with executional excellence, you will ensure Xero’s go-to-market strategy is refined and delivered effectively across diverse and complex markets. Your focus will be on creating a customer-first culture that relies on data-driven decisions to optimise every marketing touchpoint.

The team & how they connect

You will lead a dedicated regional marketing team while collaborating closely with the EMEA Leadership Team and global marketing service functions. This role sits at the heart of a cross-functional network, working alongside Sales, Operations, and Communications to ensure integrated efforts that grow Xero’s market share. You will act as a coach and mentor, nurturing a high-performing team environment where clear expectations and professional growth are prioritised.

The team is currently working on

  • Defining and refining the go-to-market strategy for the EMEA region to lift brand awareness and drive demand.

  • Overseeing the multi-channel marketing budget to ensure effective operationalising and delivery against commercial targets.

  • Establishing a smooth collaboration rhythm with global teams such as Product Marketing, Media Planning, and Customer Engagement.

  • Strategic planning and delivery of cross-channel regional marketing plans,
combining both Brand, SMB and Partner marketing campaigns and initiatives (across multiple markets of differing complexities and market stage).

Where and how you can work

This role is based in our Cape Town office. At Xero, we embrace a hybrid working model that balances the flexibility of remote work with the connection of in-office "boost days." You will have the opportunity to work with a global community while maintaining a local presence that supports the regional team's energy and collaboration.

Here are some of the things we are looking for

  • Extensive experience in leading marketing functions within high-growth environments, ideally within the SaaS sector.

  • Your background includes a proven track record of managing complex partnership and channel marketing strategies.

  • You possess natural leadership skills and an ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams through coaching and clear KPI setting.

  • You have a deep understanding of multi-channel campaign delivery and an urgency to deliver solutions that are highly measurable.

  • Your communication style is clear, kind, and inclusive, allowing you to build trust across diverse regional and global teams.

  • You offer strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven approach to prioritising tasks in a collaborative setting.

  • Ability to create a culture and process of customer-first thinking and data-driven decisioning, ensuring that all marketing activity is effectively benchmarked, measured and optimised
