The Data Security Engineer will focus on safeguarding enterprise, operational, and industrial data across cloud platforms, business systems (ERP, supply chain, analytics), and connected manufacturing environments (OT). The ideal candidate will help implement data security controls, monitor risks, and ensure compliance while enabling secure digital transformation across plants, supply chain operations, and corporate functions.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining data security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Configure and monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP), encryption, and data classification solutions.
- Monitor and analyze data security controls to prevent unauthorized access, data leakage, and misuse
- Assist in maintaining data security documentation, policies, and control frameworks.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives focused on data protection best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum requirement of 2 years in data security, cybersecurity, information security, or related roles.
- Understanding of data protection principles and information security frameworks.
- Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Purview/M365 DLP/Defender for Cloud Apps or a DSPM/CASB tool is ideal.
- Familiarity with:
- Core privacy/security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2; NIST; GDPR basics)
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Encryption technologies
- Cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Knowledge of security concepts
- Experience with cloud-native security tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, AWS Macie, Azure Information Protection).
- Exposure to data governance and data lifecycle management concepts.
