- The Professional, Data Management & Governance job ensures the accuracy, security and effective use of the organization's moderately complex data. With limited supervision, this job supports the development and implements policies, handles data quality and ensures compliance with regulations. This job also helps design data architecture, cultivates data literacy and partners with technology team and business units to support better decision making, operational efficiency and strategic advantage for the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- STRATEGIC PLANNING: Implements and supports the development of data management and governance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- DATA STORAGE, INTEGRATION & CONSUMPTION: Implements and maintains standards for data storage, data in transit and data use in both raw and insight formats.
- DATA STANDARDS: Reviews and documents data standards to ensure consistency and quality across all data domains, and that policies are followed.
- DATA QUALITY: Helps ensure the accuracy, consistency and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle by handling data quality standards, monitoring data quality metrics and implementing corrective processes while supporting data quality audits as needed to ensure data standards are met. .
- POLICY DEVELOPMENT & GOVERNANCE: Implements data governance policies that help maintain data integrity ensuring data practices align with organizational goals, and frameworks that define how data is collected, stored, processed and shared.
- DATA OPERATIONS & STEWARDSHIP: Implements operational improvements to reduce data quality defects, improve efficiency and speed while maintaining compliance to regulations and policies.
- DATA LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: Handles moderately complex data from initiation to decommissioning through the lifecycle to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT: Helps develop and implements data governance, risk and compliance processes and controls to support continuous improvement, mitigate risk and align with applicable laws and regulations.
- DATA LITERACY & TRAINING: Deploys training programs to improve organizational literacy, compliance to data standards and policies and increased understanding of accountability for data responsibilities.
- TECHNOLOGY: Implements, deploys, sustains solutions or improvements to data management and governance technologies to advance data practices for improved compliance, efficiency and value.
