The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver modules, stable application systems, and Data or Platform solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying integrated business and/or enterprise infrastructure or application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise Data or Platform solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and manage our Power BI platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of Power BI services, ensuring optimal performance and security of our reporting environment. This role will work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to deliver insightful data visualizations and reports that drive informed decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)• 2 years of experience in Data, BI or Platform Engineering, Data Warehousing/ETL, or Software Engineering• 1 year of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Administer and optimize Power BI environments, ensuring seamless performance and security across both cloud and on-premises setups.
- Develop, publish, and manage interactive reports and dashboards that provide valuable insights to stakeholders.
- Utilize PowerShell scripts for automation and management tasks within Power BI and related services.
- Configure and manage on-premises and cloud data gateways to facilitate secure data connections.
- Create and manage dataflows to enable efficient data transformation and integration.
- Leverage Power Automate to automate workflows and enhance reporting processes.
- Generate and analyze usage reports to monitor engagement and performance metrics.
- Manage Power BI Premium capacities, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance.
- Understanding of Power BI licensing models, including F SKU's and their impact on usage and reporting.
- Utilize the Capacity Management app to generate and analyze performance reports.
- Monitor data refresh schedules and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
- Provide training and support to users on Power BI best practices, dataflows, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Lake.
- Familiarity with GCP concepts.
