You will synthesize insights across sources, and help leaders assess competitive positioning, emerging risks, and opportunities.
This role partners closely with Product, Distribution, and Corporate Strategy to deliver perspectives that are actionable and impactful. We are looking for a strong problem-solver who brings structured thinking, synthesis, and executive storytelling, and who either brings deep expertise in insurance and financial services markets or is eager to build it.
The Team
Strategic Intelligence sits within Corporate Strategy and the CFO organization, helping the enterprise make informed decisions through timely, high-quality external insights. The team identifies and interprets emerging industry, market, and competitive trends, translating them into enterprise perspectives that shape strategy.
Strategic Intelligence's three pillars-Competitive, Market, and Consumer Insights-work together to build a holistic view of the external environment and business implications.
The Impact
Enterprise Perspective & Narrative Development
  • Develop a cohesive view of the competitive landscape and its strategic implications

  • Tailor narratives to the decisions senior stakeholders are actually making

  • Create actionable outputs that inform and influence decisions

Insight Generation & Strategic Interpretation
  • Identify patterns and trends across competitor activity, market developments, and industry shifts

  • Broaden leadership understanding of opportunities, risks, and strategic choices

  • Lead forward-looking analyses to anticipate changes in the competitive environment

Senior Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
  • Contribute to leadership discussions with clear, well-supported perspectives

  • Communicate findings in a way that builds trust and advances discussion

  • Build strong relationships across Product, Distribution, and Corporate Strategy

Function Leadership & Integration
  • Partner with Market and Consumer Insights to connect competitive, market, and customer dynamics

  • Help evolve Competitive Insights capabilities, including publications, frameworks, and engagement models

  • Mentor junior team members and rotational analysts

Data & Analytical Foundation
  • Leverage industry data sources such as LIMRA, AM Best, S&P, and internal datasets

  • Ensure analytical rigor supports all narratives and recommendations

  • Collaborate with partners to maintain access to key data and insights

Strategic Partnership Enablement
  • Build and maintain competitive profiles of key accounts and strategic partners

  • Identify areas of strategic alignment for prospective partnerships

  • Prepare briefing content and coordinate interactions with external parties

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in corporate or business strategy, insights, market research, equity research, or consulting

Ideal Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant experience; background in insurance, financial services, or advising financial services clients is a plus

  • Graduate degree or professional designation relevant to the role

  • Proven ability to turn complex, ambiguous analysis into a clear point of view and a narrative that lands with senior executives

  • Demonstrated ability to introduce additional perspectives and help shape discussions constructively

  • Working knowledge of life insurance, annuity, or retirement products; willingness to build depth quickly

  • Familiarity with industry data sources (e.g., LIMRA, AM Best, S&P) and reporting practices

  • Strong analytical skills combined with sound business judgment: ability to synthesize disparate inputs into coherent perspectives and identify implications for strategy

  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently and to drive high-impact workstreams

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams

  • Prior experience mentoring or developing junior team members
