Everest Insurance Company of Canada, a specialty commercial lines property and casualty insurance market, member of the Everest Group, Ltd., is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our Company in the position of Claims Specialist.  Based in Toronto, Canada, the candidate will have multiple claims responsibilities.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Canadian Claims team and must thrive in a dynamic, small team environment while being capable of working effectively within a larger, multinational environment. The individual must be able to work with and influence others while demonstrating excellent adjusting/examining skills.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Direct examining commercial property of medium severity;

  • Investigate, analyze, evaluate and adjust assigned claims in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric experience;

  • Coverage verification through policy analysis;

  • Work to have a timely resolution to claims by developing case strategy; developing a case evaluation; and escalating issues as appropriate;

  • Proactive and timely establishment and maintenance of claim reserves;

  • Proactive and timely customer service both internally and externally responding to enquiries and participating in customer marketing efforts as required;

  • Monitor and manage outside vendors, including independent adjusters and counsel within accepted budgets and protocols

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry with ideally one or three years claims adjustment experience;

  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including the concise presentation of often complicated facts along with analysis and recommendations;

  • Bilingualism, French and English, an asset;

  • Commercial property experience an asset

The base salary range for this position is CAD 70,000 - CAD 85,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
