What the role entails

We are looking for an Automation & Integration Software Engineer to help build and maintain a new automated testing platform for the next generation of UXI products. This is a software-focused QA engineering role rather than a manual testing position. You will need write code, architect automation infrastructure, work with Linux networking, and integrate several systems into a reliable test platform.

Responsibilities:

●     Contribute toward the design and implementation of a scalable, reusable automated integration testing framework

●     Help define a standard testing SDK that enables engineering teams to collaborate on and create consistent test cases, configure test conditions and validate expected product behaviour

●     Develop and maintain automated test pipelines, supporting tools, and reproducible test environments.

●     Write test scripts, conduct functional and integration testing, identify problem areas, and help implement corrective improvements

●     Analyse test results and diagnostic information to distinguish product defects, environmental failures, and framework issues.

●     Track errors and issues through their lifecycle, working with relevant stakeholders to support investigation and correction.

●     Maintain framework documentation, usage guidance, and shared knowledge that enables teams to adopt and extend the testing platform.

Knowledge and Skills:

●     Experience writing or maintaining software tooling who’s primary consumers are internal development teams.

●     Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

●     Familiarity with automated test harness concepts like setup, teardown, timeouts, and failure diagnostics in the embedded context

●     Strong software development skills in any modern programming language

●     Demonstrable experience working with:

1. Linux, Docker, and KVM

2. Network OSI Model

3. Automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible etc…

4. Test automation

●     An interest in embedded Linux, firmware testing, networking, and hardware test automation

●     A strong problem solving ability and a capacity to break complex tasks into clear steps with well-defined deliverable outcomes.

●     An exceedingly strong attention to detail

●     Excellent written and verbal communication in English
