Associate Hardware Product Quality Engineer

Job Description:

The Associate Hardware Product Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product and manufacturing quality across the product lifecycle, from new product introduction through high-volume production and sustaining operations. This role partners closely with internal engineering teams and global contract manufacturing (CM) partners to ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will analyze product and process performance, lead root cause and corrective action activities, manage quality escalations, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Working within an established framework, this individual applies quality engineering principles to identify risks, resolve manufacturing and product quality issues, and implement effective corrective actions. The role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence internal teams and manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage hardware product quality escalations and drive timely resolution of manufacturing, process, and product quality issues.
• Act as the primary quality liaison between the company and global contract manufacturing partners, ensuring adherence to established quality and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor test, inspection, and production yields to identify trends, emerging issues, and opportunities for quality improvement.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA/RCCA) activities for product and process failures.
• Analyze manufacturing, test, and quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements to product designs, test methods, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by integrating quality requirements into product development, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.
• Review product designs, specifications, and manufacturing processes to identify potential quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Design, implement, and maintain quality engineering methods, inspection plans, test strategies, and process controls.
• Facilitate continuous improvement activities at manufacturing sites through audits, performance reviews, corrective actions, and quality initiatives.
• Support Manufacturing Holds, Purges, ECOs, MCOs, Deviations, and other change-management activities to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition processes as required.
• Develop and present quality performance metrics, corrective action status, and risk assessments to stakeholders and leadership.
• Support compliance with internal quality systems and external industry standards, including Lean, Six Sigma, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to strategic Product Quality Engineering initiatives, standardization efforts, and best-practice development across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-4 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, product quality, supplier quality, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with electronic assemblies, hardware products, or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), CAPA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience analyzing manufacturing, quality, and test data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Advanced English Level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience supporting global contract manufacturers and supply chain partners.
• Experience with Agile PLM, quality management systems, and manufacturing process controls.
• Knowledge of supplier quality management practices.
• Mandarin and/or Spanish language proficiency.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
