Job Description

Analytics Operations Analyst

Job Summary

Barings Analytics Operations Department is seeking an analyst to provide the ongoing support for the production of the firm’s Investment Analytic platform.  As part of our broader Global Technology & Data group, the Analytic Operations team is responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to produce, measure, and monitor investment level analytics on a firm-wide basis.  The candidate will work with associates across the firm to produce and monitor the quality of Fixed Income Analytics for assets and portfolios while providing ongoing support to critical stakeholders.  The ideal candidate must be able to effectively build relationships with key stakeholders in the business and support areas, ensure high quality results are delivered on time and be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. This individual will be tasked with assisting the global team with performing the daily quality control process and aiding improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ownership and oversight of the daily Fixed Income Analytics calculation and quality control process.
  • Provide timely confirmation of the accuracy of investment data to permit effective portfolio management and trading.
  • Ensure that ad-hoc tasks and queries are acknowledged in a timely and professional manner, and that regular updates are provided as necessary.
  • Assist other global team members as necessary and where reasonable to meet requirements and deliverables.
  • Maintain a working relationship with our key data vendors and ensure that the upkeep of service quality and process improvement are priority agendas.
  • Seek efficiency gains in our operational processes and work with technology support teams to drive automation and scalable workflows.
  • Assist with required initiatives such as documentation, audit requests and system testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Fixed Income Analytics and asset modeling for bonds, loans and fixed income derivatives.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment across a global platform.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to gather, analyze, organize and report information, results and recommendations.
  • Experience working with fixed income performance and/or investment risk data like tracking error, volatility and VaR preferable.
  • Ability to rapidly learn the Barings infrastructure and proprietary tools.
  • Detailed reporting and presentation requirements.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills across all mediums of contact.
  • Some knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services and/or BI tools desired - MS SQL Server querying experience (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of buy side platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, Riskspan and Intex preferred.
