Job Purpose and Impact
- The UKG Pro WFM Technical Lead is a strategic leadership role on the product team, responsible for setting technical direction, ensuring architectural integrity, and enabling the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. This role partners closely with the Product Manager to align technical decisions with product strategy, represents engineering in directional discussions, proactively manages technical risk, and creates the conditions for the broader team to stay focused on delivering immediate priorities with minimal context switching. When not performing Tech Lead responsibilities, this role also contributes as an Engineer on the team.
Key Accountabilities
- TECHNICAL DIRECTION & ARCHITECTURE: Partners with the Product Manager to align technical direction with product goals, guiding the team in architectural and design decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & DEPLOYMENT: Provides thought leadership across the full delivery lifecycle, including design, build, test, deploy, and ongoing support, while overseeing code quality, technical debt management, and CI/CD practices.
- USER COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT: Facilitates clear communication between engineers and other product team members, fostering open channels across cross-functional stakeholders.
- APPLICATION SUPPORT: Applies advanced hands-on expertise in diagnosing complex UKG Pro WFM issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving sustainable fixes across configuration, integrations, and upstream/downstream dependencies.
- STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Represents engineering in product planning and prioritization, owning technical risk identification, mitigation, and communication with key internal and external partners.
- APPLICATION CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT: Recommends and implements highly complex strategies for UKG Pro WFM configuration and solution design across core modules including Timekeeping, Accruals, Attendance, Scheduling, and device/integration touchpoints.
- INTEGRATION & DATA MANAGEMENT: Applies expertise in UKG Pro WFM data flows and integrations, including Boomi or similar middleware, to assess cross-interface impacts, troubleshoot failures, and guide robust end-to-end solution design.
- APPLICATION PROCESSES & PROCEDURES: Ensures continuous integration, testing, and deployment practices are in place, supporting the team in breaking down work into small, deliverable increments with minimal rework.
- TEAM DEVELOPMENT & MENTORSHIP: Mentors engineers, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in UKG Pro WFM configuration and solution design across Timekeeping, Accruals, Attendance, Scheduling, and device/integration touchpoints
- Proven experience leading UKG Pro WFM implementations in complex, multi-country or global environments, with attention to regional compliance, scale, and operational stability
- Expertise in UKG Pro WFM integrations including Boomi or comparable middleware, with ability to guide end-to-end solution design across upstream and downstream dependencies
Additional Applicant Information
The expected salary for this position is $165,000 - $197,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law. This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future. This includes candidates whose work authorization is tied to a student visa, employer-sponsored visa, visa transfer, immigration petition, or other third-party sponsorship arrangement.
