As an Accountant, General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for tracking daily transactions and ensuring they are compliant with regulatory standards as well as Ursa Major’s overall financial goals. You will ensure that data supports budgeting and forecasting requirements. This role will also help facilitate the month/year-end close process and assist in preserving the integrity of the general ledger through account reconciliations and maintaining amortization and accrual schedules. This individual can adhere to timetables, is highly organized, and is solution-oriented. This role is based out of our Longmont, Colorado office.
Responsibilities:
- Own current and implement new month/year-end closing procedures
- Prepare journal entries and various ad hoc reports
- Help monitor and implement internal controls
- Assist in preparing PBC requests for 3rd party reviews and audits
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Work cross-functionally with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and to identify process improvement needs
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
- First level review of financial data
- Occasional administrative duties and others as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least two years of recent experience as a General Ledger Accountant
- Experience using Odoo or other ERP software required
- Intermediate or higher skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
- Organized
Desired Experience:
- Public accounting experience
- Experience preparing PBC requests for auditors
- CPA, CIA, CISA are a plus
- 2-3 years of working within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in aerospace and/or government accounting
Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $72,000 - $90,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can’t quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
