The role coordinates cross-functional and global teams, defines innovative consumer experiences, communicates recommendations to executives, and manages partner relationships across startups, investors, universities, and Samsung R&D organizations.

Lead Samsung’s vision, multimodal, agentic, and deep learning research strategy. Direct advanced AI R&D, guide global collaborations, drive top-tier publications and patents, and transfer research into consumer products and services. Build and develop internationally distributed teams, establish long-term innovation priorities, attract leading researchers and engineers, and elevate Samsung’s AI Center through influential research, conferences, workshops, and open challenges.

Lead a Data Efficiency group to research and deliver data-efficient robot learning methods. Manage R&D, engineer data and model pipelines, build prototypes and pilots on robot platforms, oversee team operations (hiring, milestones, contracts), and publish patents and papers. Collaborate across Samsung labs and external partners to advance simulation, teleoperation, egocentric-video learning, and model deployment for production robot learning.

Design, build, and evaluate robotic hardware, sensors, and software; develop algorithms for perception, control, learning, navigation, and manipulation; create simulations and sim-to-real pipelines; collect and manage real-world data; run experiments and benchmarks; maintain robot fleets; document and present results; collaborate cross-functionally from concept to deployment.

Conduct cutting-edge robotics research across perception, planning, manipulation, and multimodal fusion. Develop VLMs/VLA models, TAMP, SLAM, real-time video encoders, 3D representations, and deploy scalable evaluation pipelines. Collaborate cross-functionally, publish papers, and generate patents while building autonomy architectures and training data-efficient robotic policies.

Lead state-of-the-art research in long-horizon robot autonomy (TAMP, VLMs, world models, 3D perception, multimodal fusion). Manage researchers and engineers to build and evaluate prototypes on simulated and real robots, collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners, publish papers, and generate patents while shaping R&D priorities.

Lead ideation and incubation of transformative technology concepts, source partners from startups and universities, build R&D roadmaps, drive proofs-of-concept and partnerships, and champion initiatives across cross-functional global teams to advance concepts toward commercialization.

Lead research and strategy to identify and translate emerging hardware and on-device AI technologies into next-generation consumer devices. Evaluate sensors, SoCs, AI accelerators and prototypes; build business cases, drive partnerships, POCs, and commercialization plans; and coordinate cross-functional R&D, engineering, and executive stakeholders to advance Samsung's product roadmap.

Source and screen passive technical talent across AI, machine learning, robotics, computer vision, SoC, digital health, and data science roles, including Director-level executives. Develop multichannel sourcing strategies, analyze market data, advise recruiters and hiring managers, build diverse talent networks, promote employer branding, and track recruiting conversion metrics.

Lead AI strategy and initiatives for Samsung by creating growth roadmaps, identifying high-value use cases, and translating strategy into action, while fostering responsible AI practices and cross-functional collaboration.
