Mobile Processor Innovation (MPI) Lab, Samsung Research America, serves research and development needs for MX (Mobile eXperience) of Samsung Electronics, which leads the global market with innovative technology and design, launching breakthrough products like the Galaxy S series, and Fold series of mobile phones. Position Summary:
Currently, Mobile Processor Innovation (MPI) Lab, Samsung Research America, is looking to fill positions for image signal processing (ISP) engineer for video applications. At MPI lab, you will be responsible for developing new user experience differentiation by bringing cutting edge camera imaging and video technologies into flagship Samsung phones.
Specific experience in areas of video ISP development for mobile camera, camera system understanding, image/video algorithm, AI/Deep-Learning, image/video algorithm implementation in fixed point SW. SW optimizations through multi-threading and Neon optimizations, Android camera, and other embedded systems expertise is also preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design classical and deep learning based algorithms for ISP (Image Signal Processing) for video use cases
- Prototype video processing systems in high level languages (eg Matlab / Python) as well as lower level C. Integrate with existing simulators, run simulations and demonstrate feasibility and robustness of designed algorithms.
- Develop efficient and user-friendly Video solution architecture and frameworks for heterogeneous multimedia processing and prototypes for various mobile AP’s supported by Samsung
- Collaborate with various internal R&D members to explore technical requirements and develop solutions to challenging engineering problems for next-generation mobile camera applications
Required Skills:
- Masters or PhD in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3+ years of ISP development experience in industry
- Deep grasp of ISP architecture in AP SoC, image processing, and video processing theory and application concepts
- Hands-on experience with image and video processing algorithm design and prototyping
- Hands-on experience in working with large software system (eg, camera system SW)
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with team members
- Familiarity and experience with GPU/NPU or ARM Neon is preferred

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

$145,200—$199,750 USD
