The internship requires 15–20 hours weekly during fall and spring semesters and up to 40 hours during summer, on site.

Leads NPI activities for SMT-based PCB assemblies from prototypes through production in a high-mix, low-volume environment. Develops, validates, documents, and optimizes SMT processes, including printing, placement, reflow, and inspection. Partners with Design Engineering on DFM and DFT, specifies tooling and equipment, supports pilot builds, troubleshoots production issues, improves yield and reliability, and ensures compliance with IPC standards and quality requirements.

Supports the lifecycle, reliability, and performance of embedded electronic systems used in aerospace and defense. Troubleshoots legacy and production hardware, performs root cause analysis, designs and validates analog and mixed-signal circuits, updates schematics and BOMs, qualifies replacement components, and supports PCB production debugging. The role is hybrid in Bohemia, New York, and supports military, aerospace, and industrial customers.

Fall 2026 electrical engineering intern supporting the development, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of test systems for cables, backplanes, and electronic assemblies. The role includes building mechanical fixtures, integrating test hardware and software, performing electrical testing, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and documenting configurations, procedures, changes, and results. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship running September through December.

Assist with designing, developing, testing, debugging, and documenting GUI applications, software libraries, test programs, and embedded software. Support software-hardware integration with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, meters, and other test equipment across Windows, Linux, and embedded operating systems. Work with experienced engineers while applying coding standards, software design practices, and version control tools.
