Manages a Customer Programs team and oversees customer contracts through pre-production, production, and postproduction. Responsibilities include performance management, continuous improvement, budget and compliance monitoring, departmental metrics, production scheduling, systems upkeep, operational meetings, and customer relationship support. Designs electrical systems and PLC programs from concept through production implementation. Develops electrical checkout procedures, configuration files, drawings, calculations, and bills of materials for transit bus components. Provides engineering support to production, quality assurance, and customer service teams; collaborates with vendors and customers; and contributes to product and process improvements. Requires an electrical engineering education, with 1–2 years of design experience preferred, and travel to the United States below 15%.

Provides administrative and clerical support to the Quality Assurance Department by maintaining quality records, administering documentation systems, analyzing quality data and trends, generating performance reports, investigating quality issues, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.

Supervises quality assurance and inspection staff in a heavy-duty vehicle manufacturing plant. Leads quality-at-source, containment, corrective and preventive actions, audits, inspection processes, ISO 9001 compliance, calibration, and continuous improvement. Coordinates with production, suppliers, field service, and customers to resolve conformance issues. Oversees reject, scrap, rework, vendor return, final delivery, and quality reporting processes while ensuring effective documentation and follow-up.

Supports strategic sourcing leadership through management reporting, material cost and contract margin analysis, forecasts, budgets, compliance tracking, supplier risk reporting, and sourcing process improvement projects. Maintains the supply management compliance registry and coordinates activities related to customs, Buy America, Buy Canada, supplier relationships, savings, rebates, and material cost inflation.

Investigates and resolves electrical system and component quality issues through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, supplier quality coordination, audits, and performance reporting. The role partners with engineering, manufacturing, production, commissioning, and suppliers to improve electrical product reliability, reduce defects and bus downtime, and maintain compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.

Support Facilities Engineering for the Anniston plant and corporate Facility Council. Lead and manage multiple facilities projects end-to-end (scope, schedule, budget, risk), maintain CAD layouts, manage lease negotiations, specify capital/equipment upgrades, support Process Planning and Manufacturing Engineering, implement lean initiatives, and create business cases and presentations.

Use Lean methodologies to identify and eliminate shop-floor defects, lead continuous improvement events and Kaizen activities, train employees in Lean tools (5S, VSM, value graphs), document defects and corrective actions, and report progress to Lean Manager to improve product quality and workplace satisfaction.

Coordinate and prepare technical bid and proposal packages for transit buses, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, gather costing and specifications, develop pricing recommendations, maintain sales documentation and ensure timely proposal submission.

Lead cross-functional engineering efforts to meet deadlines and contractual milestones. Manage New Design Integration projects, identify and mitigate risks, approve engineering changes, oversee supplier qualifications and vendor interactions, coordinate approvals and deliverables, support process optimization, mentor engineering staff, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Support manufacturing engineering for assigned cells: implement ECNs, create and train on standard work, design tooling, maintain layouts, support capital projects, lead lean improvements, validate processes, and participate in cross-functional problem resolution to ensure production efficiency, quality, and safety.

Lead cross-functional electrical engineering efforts to meet contractual milestones and lifecycle requirements. Manage NDI projects, review customer specs, oversee supplier approvals, approve ECNs, track KPIs, mitigate technical risks to ensure compliance with industry standards, and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coordination across engineering, production, sourcing, quality, and service.

Lead conversion of business plans into production schedules, manage sales and delivery targets, oversee analysts, monitor daily production status, prepare forecasting and performance reports, and drive continuous improvement to meet quarterly and annual delivery objectives.

Develop, maintain, and optimize CNC programs for sheet/tube lasers, press brakes, and bending machines. Create setup sheets, manage program libraries, support production troubleshooting, collaborate with engineering/purchasing/planning, and ensure ISO-compliant programming and efficient material utilization.

Provide manufacturing engineering support for assigned cells including electrical integration and troubleshooting, implement lean initiatives, execute ECOs/ECNs, create shop-floor instructions, specify tooling and capital equipment upgrades, participate in SWAT teams, and support process planning and production engineering.

Support Strategic Sourcing by collecting, verifying, and organizing trade compliance documentation (USMCA, K32), material composition and origin data, and BOM information from suppliers. Clean and load data into tracking/ERP systems, monitor evolving tariff and duty legislation, and prepare analyses for sourcing leadership.

Provide HR support focused on disability and claims management: administer occupational/non-occupational claims, liaison with medical and external providers, coordinate return-to-work programs, develop prevention-focused initiatives, advise on employee and labour relations, and deliver training on disability and claims processes.
