Supports the Global and EMEA Tolling Leader in managing external suppliers producing Momentive products for the European market. Perform laboratory synthesis, formulation, and application testing; operate instruments; document experiments electronically; maintain laboratory standards; interpret data; and communicate findings through written reports and a final PowerPoint presentation.

Summer chemistry intern supporting the synthesis, purification, characterization, and process development of novel silane molecules for tire and rubber applications. Responsibilities include conducting organic chemistry reactions, documenting experiments, reviewing literature, troubleshooting products, maintaining laboratory safety, and collaborating with research teams. The role requires undergraduate enrollment in chemistry or a related field, organic chemistry coursework or laboratory experience, strong safety awareness, and availability for 40 hours weekly over 10–12 weeks.

Conduct polymer formulation, processing, testing, and characterization experiments under mentorship. Prepare samples using speedmixer and Ross mixer equipment, then evaluate mechanical, adhesion, electrical resistivity, thermal conductivity, and microscopic properties. The intern analyzes maintenance and operational data, develops dashboards and reports, investigates equipment failures, participates in field assessments, and collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.

Supports a global product data standardization initiative for Specialty Additives, including SAP master data cleanup, validation, governance, and migration preparation for a new M-ERP platform. Collaborates with product management, master data, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, and commercial teams worldwide. Develops tracking tools, documents improvements, supports change communications, and presents project updates while gaining experience in product management, ERP implementation, and digital transformation.

Supports product information management across PIM, PIM-Hub, Momentive.com, and Samples.momentive.com. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate product content, managing information requests, learning Adobe AEM and PIM applications, supporting data entry and taxonomy, and coordinating with cross-functional digital product and program teams to ensure timely, consistent updates across channels.

Supports product stewardship process optimization through digitization, automation, and process streamlining. Responsibilities include IT systems integration, process mapping, Power BI dashboards, documentation management, regulatory data governance, metadata tagging, document migration, and workflow automation using Power Platform. The intern collaborates with global product stewardship and internal teams during a 10–12 week assignment.

Conduct literature and industry reviews, evaluate laboratory equipment, and develop testing methods for rubber compounds. Design experiments to validate repeatability, reproducibility, and sensitivity; document procedures, calculations, data workflows, and SOPs. Maintain clear lab records, analyze results, present recommendations, and support implementation into routine laboratory use while following safety and EHS requirements.

Supports a senior chemist in developing coating chemistries and products. Responsibilities include designing and evaluating coating additives and resins, formulating and testing coatings, conducting structure-property studies with analytical techniques, documenting experimental results, and presenting findings to technical teams and leaders.
