Job Title:Advanced Application Development Engineer

Summary:• Responsible for technical lead including customer optimized process on site and new application development directed at electronics market globally.
• Handling the silicone based “Adhesives” “Thermal interface material” “Potting” and so on.
• Leads the New product introduction (NPI) projects with right information from the customers.

Responsibilities Include:

Global:

  • Point of Contact & Support in Japan to the Global automotive project Team.
  • Providing professional customer & application support related to the use of current and new products, scale-up commercialization and executing trials
  • Supporting customers and global R&D teams to solve problems with experience on application and product knowhow.

Regional:

  • Reporting to Japan ADE leader and working closely with Commercial functions and with Technology Teams across the regional to identify new business opportunities to drive new growth for Momentive’s Electronics BU.
  • Creative ideas and application understanding to help design new product (NPI) with the R&D formulations chemists that provide added value Electronics end customers.
  • Development of new evaluation and characterization methods for the lab and customer specific application support.
  • Troubleshooting & test support for customer issues.
  • Providing professional customer support related to the use of current and new products, scale-up commercialization and executing trials, including travel to customers sites as needed.
  • Be partnership with equipment makers in Japan, regularly visit and exchange information with manufacturing equipment companies which are processing our materials to stay up to date on their developments and latest technologies.
  • Generating product specific Data Packages for existing and new materials
  • Purchases, installs and maintains equipment in consultation for capacity expansion of lab.
  • Ordering, storage and safe handling of chemicals and materials and maintaining equipment.
  • Maintaining high levels of safety standards and housekeeping in laboratory.
  • Support to junior ADEs.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or MS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, preferably polymer or organic chemistry required.
  • (10+ years business experience in an E&E related Chemical Company after earning degree)
  • 7+ years experience in the Electronics/Automotive material industry in a Product Development and/or Technical Service and/or Process Development for the csutomers.
  • Expert understanding of the use and application of common materials/products used in Electronics/Automotive industry.
  • Must have laboratory work experience
  • Communicable in Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skill in the adhesive, potting, and coating of electronics material. High level of expertise in formulating and/or application development for at least one segment within Electronics materials (Automotive, or Consumer electronics).
  • Experience for Semiconductor “back-end“ business.
  • Proficient in Desing of Ecperiment (DOE)
  • Interest in/understand global business process.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, Project management.
  • Strong customer orientation and high problem-solving skill.
