Develop and validate mission-critical spacecraft flight software in C/C++, Python, and Java. Responsibilities include software design, coding, unit and integration testing, simulation-based verification, issue resolution, documentation, and subsystem integration. Improve CI/CD pipelines, containerized development environments, testing automation, and spacecraft simulation models. Lead and professionalize Business Operations: create operating frameworks, remove process friction, translate strategy into operational plans, drive cross-functional improvements, support governance and audits, and lead a small team to scale repeatable ways of working across the organisation.

Develop and deploy guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations, autonomous navigation, pose estimation, and attitude/orbit control. Build high-fidelity spacecraft and orbital simulation environments, support flight software development and satellite integration, and perform verification, validation, hardware trade studies, FMECA, and FDIR activities. Collaborate with systems, computer vision, and flight dynamics teams across the full mission lifecycle, including on-orbit operations.

Execute and establish daily cybersecurity operations based on security policies and procedures. Responsibilities include incident detection and escalation, documentation, audit evidence management, compliance monitoring, security training, risk assessment support, remediation follow-up, and continuous improvement. The role supports defense-related security requirements and audits while helping maintain and improve the organization’s security posture.

Design and integrate mechanical refueling subsystems for satellites, define interfaces and ICDs, plan and execute vibration/thermal/thermal-cycle tests, assemble hardware with production, manage procurement and supplier coordination, and validate capture and refueling mechanisms.

Lead and execute sales and business development activities to secure contracts with the Government of Japan and industry customers for on‑orbit services. Develop and implement communication strategies, engage customers and partners, produce competitive proposals, and coordinate with business leads. Perform related duties as assigned.

Lead technical proposal and project activities for on-orbit service missions: develop customer proposals (RFI/RFP), assess technical feasibility with engineering, define work packages (personnel, budget, schedule), perform system-level design/analysis and project management, coordinate cross-functional and overseas teams, and conduct contracted research and studies related to orbital services.

Lead and manage spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Verification/Test (AIV/AIT) activities including test set-up design, procedure and schedule development, GSE commissioning, budget and bid contributions, facility strategy, team mentoring, supplier/customer representation, and coordination across Astroscale entities to deliver mission hardware to specification, on time and within budget.

Build and maintain engineering tools, infrastructure, and practices to improve reliability, traceability, and maintainability of mission-critical software. Automate and standardize workflows, develop internal libraries and data pipelines, package reusable tools, define GitLab/Git and CI/CD best practices, support CI/CD troubleshooting and onboarding, and enable automated documentation and long-term tool maintenance.

Design, develop, validate and maintain flight dynamics software and algorithms for space control. Support requirements capture, mission analysis, V&V, integration, operations troubleshooting, bids, supplier interfacing, Agile delivery, and product documentation for defence customers.

Design, implement and verify spacecraft AOCS/GNC systems including control laws and algorithms for RPO and docking. Support system-level activities (CONOPS, FMECA, FDIR), GNC hardware/software architecture, simulation-based validation, and procurement trade-offs for sensors and equipment.

Lead operations preparation for spacecraft missions: define mission ops concepts, develop procedures, support simulators and mission databases, write test plans, coordinate with design and flight teams, support system validation tests and mission simulations, and provide operational support including potential on-call anomaly resolution.

Lead and support development, verification, validation, operation and maintenance of ground segment systems (mission control, planning, ground station interfaces). Derive and manage requirements, produce documentation, coordinate suppliers and internal teams, follow Agile/Scrum, support operations and training, and resolve technical issues between developers and operations.

Define spacecraft mission and system design, derive requirements and CONOPS, perform mission analysis, orbital maneuver modeling, simulation and optimization, develop flight dynamics software, support trade studies, and conduct real-time flight dynamics operations including maneuver planning, execution, and assessment while coordinating with technical leads and project management.

Lead development of computer vision components for mission systems: define requirements, design and implement object-detection algorithms, verify and integrate software on target embedded hardware, manage releases, support system testing and operations, and act as technical lead coordinating schedules and tasks across teams.

Design, develop, verify, and maintain ground-segment software for Flight Dynamics. Lead supplier-developed products, build in-house Flight Dynamics modules, produce documentation, support verification/integration, and assist satellite operations. Develop full-stack web applications, work in Linux, use Python and Docker, and collaborate across teams.

Lead design and delivery of complex space missions by coordinating matrixed engineering teams; plan and run project review gates and deliverables; balance quality, cost, schedule, and risk; provide inputs to mission studies and bids; interface with customers, suppliers, and partners; perform other manager-assigned duties.

Lead the development and verification of spacecraft GNC/AOCS systems, design control laws and algorithms for RPO and docking, define system-level activities (CONOPS, FMECA, FDIR), perform hardware/software architecture trade-offs, support procurement, and mentor junior engineers.

Provide daily office administration and services including reception of calls and deliveries, inventory and vendor coordination, facility and security management, cleaning contractor oversight, basic bookkeeping (expense filing and payment requests), and general clerical support to maintain a safe, functional workplace.

Design and develop MPU-based onboard electronics and electronic control devices for satellites. Lead mixed-signal circuit design, simulation and board-level verification, define interfaces/specifications, coordinate with suppliers, manage mass/power/data budgets, and plan/execute environmental and electrical tests and evaluate results.
