Brazil is one of Latin America’s largest countries and economies. Initially, the nation relied heavily on its agriculture sectors, but as its economy developed and grew, it needed to build out other industries to continue sustainable growth. Below are some of Brazil’s largest companies that have been key to national success.

NuBank is one of Brazil’s top venture-funded tech startups. The company grew in popularity by expanding banking services in Latin America, offering checking accounts, credit cards and loans. Since launching in 2013, NuBank has expanded into Mexico and Colombia.

Mondelēz International is a global food and beverage manufacturer. It produces various products, from sweets like Sour Patch Kids to snacks, including Clif bars. Mondelēz International hires for several tech roles, including data analysts, product managers and software developers.

 

General Motors South America has its headquarters in São Paulo and manages production in a number of other Latin American countries. GM’s presence in Brazil dates back to the 1920s, and today, the company has three facilities in the country that produce vehicles, engines and components.

 

Petrobras is a state-owned oil and gas company with over 56,000 employees. It’s listed as the 54th largest company in the Forbes Global 2000 and covers the entire oil supply chain from discovery to collection and distribution.

 

Ambev is a Brazilian brewing company that’s now part of the Anheuser-Busch InBev Group. The company is known for producing beer and soft drinks through its partnerships with PepsiCo and Gatorade. Ambev employs over 30,000 people in Brazil.

 

ServiceNow provides workflow management software to allow enterprise companies to create articulated processes for delegating and fulfilling the regular tasks that they need to keep their business maintained. It aims to provide clear plans and accountability across departments on a single operational platform for employees, customer interactions and creators. The company has a Brazilian office in São Paulo.
