Brazil is one of Latin America’s largest countries and economies. Initially, the nation relied heavily on its agriculture sectors, but as its economy developed and grew, it needed to build out other industries to continue sustainable growth. Below are some of Brazil’s largest companies that have been key to national success.

Transunion is a global information and data company that provides creditworthiness and other financial services. As a credit reporting agency, it tracks individuals’ financial records using public records and its scoring system. Transunion has an office in São Paulo and hires for a wide range of roles across tech and finance.

 

Intelbras is a large technology company that manufactures various hardware products. These include security cameras, intercom systems, network routers, server racks and electric vehicle chargers. Intelbras was founded in 1976 and employs over 4,000 people.

 

Ambev is a Brazilian brewing company that’s now part of the Anheuser-Busch InBev Group. The company is known for producing beer and soft drinks through its partnerships with PepsiCo and Gatorade. Ambev employs over 30,000 people in Brazil.

 

Wise is a fintech company working to build technology that people and businesses rely on to streamline the way they move and manage money. Its solutions support international money transfers, spending abroad and international business payments. São Paulo is among a variety of global locations where Wise maintains operations.

 

Capco offers consulting services focused on digital transformation, primarily serving companies in the financial services and energy sectors. With over 20 offices worldwide, the company has a strong global presence, including a contract location in São Paulo.

 

Multilaser Industrial is a tech manufacturing company with facilities in Brazil and China. The company develops everything from laptops to smart TVs and mobile phones. Multilaser Industrial also operates a large e-commerce division that enables consumers to buy products directly from the company. 

 

Positivo Tecnologia is a tech company headquartered in Curitiba. The company produces a wide range of products, including mobile phones, voting machines and service kiosks. In addition to its hardware, Positivo Tecnologia also provides managed IT services to various companies.

 

Petrobras is a state-owned oil and gas company with over 56,000 employees. It’s listed as the 54th largest company in the Forbes Global 2000 and covers the entire oil supply chain from discovery to collection and distribution.

 

Mondelēz International is a global food and beverage manufacturer. It produces various products, from sweets like Sour Patch Kids to snacks, including Clif bars. Mondelēz International hires for several tech roles, including data analysts, product managers and software developers.

 

ServiceNow provides workflow management software to allow enterprise companies to create articulated processes for delegating and fulfilling the regular tasks that they need to keep their business maintained. It aims to provide clear plans and accountability across departments on a single operational platform for employees, customer interactions and creators. The company has a Brazilian office in São Paulo. 

 

NuBank is one of Brazil’s top venture-funded tech startups. The company grew in popularity by expanding banking services in Latin America, offering checking accounts, credit cards and loans. Since launching in 2013, NuBank has expanded into Mexico and Colombia.

 

General Motors South America has its headquarters in São Paulo and manages production in a number of other Latin American countries. GM’s presence in Brazil dates back to the 1920s, and today, the company has three facilities in the country that produce vehicles, engines and components.
