The Controller at Washington Performing Arts is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulations while collaborating with the CFO and finance team.

Support FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, and operational analytics using Power BI, Excel, SQL, and AI tools. Build models, maintain monthly operating reviews, document functional requirements, and drive reporting automation and process improvements across finance, operations, and technology.

Manage invoice processing and payments via Nexus, ensure invoices align with budget and company policy, monitor supplier W-9s, issue 1099s, and perform monthly accounts payable reconciliations.

Provide primary support and enhancements for SAP FI/CO, offer secondary SAP SD support, gather requirements, troubleshoot integration and finance processes, participate in upgrades and testing, document solutions, and deliver end-user training.

Manage assigned accounts receivable portfolio to resolve claims, reduce AR days, meet cash collection goals, drive private-pay collections, analyze denials, file appeals, liaise across teams, monitor payer/regulatory changes, produce AR dashboards, and identify automation and workflow improvements.

Manage accounts receivable and invoicing for multiple properties: generate and verify invoices, record payments, reconcile AR ledgers, follow up on overdue accounts, assist month-end close and accruals, issue 1099s, communicate with vendors/customers, and support process improvements.

Oversee daily accounting operations, supervise AP/AR staff, ensure GAAP compliance, prepare monthly financial and managerial reports, reconcile accounts, manage cash and payroll postings, implement internal controls, and assist with annual financial review and compliance reporting.

Manage hotel accounting operations: record daily revenues, process A/P and A/R, perform month-end close and reconciliations, prepare financial reports, assist audits, review payroll postings, and maintain internal controls to support budgeting and cost-saving analysis.

Maintain accurate financial records by categorizing transactions, managing accounts payable, reconciling bank/merchant/credit card accounts, recording GL activity from CRM, reviewing payroll, preparing financial statements, and communicating financial updates to franchise owners.

The General Ledger Accountant manages general ledger functions, ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and audits while collaborating with various departments.
