Own Proton’s UI and visual language across four products, partnering with product and engineering teams to ship customer-focused experiences. Prototype interactions in code using AI tools, manage the design system, define patterns for human-agent collaboration, and conduct frequent onsite customer research. The role requires strong visual design craft, end-to-end product delivery, systems thinking, agile experience, and hands-on daily use of Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent.

Lead UX and UI design across web, mobile, desktop, internet, and intranet software products. The internship is full-time, based in Washington, DC, and may be fully onsite or hybrid.

Design and ship interfaces for complex military logistics and AI systems. Conduct user research, prototype rapidly, collaborate with product and engineering teams, develop design systems, participate in design reviews, document specifications, and support product strategy. The role emphasizes human factors, information-dense interfaces, systems thinking, and designing for simulated and physical operational environments.

Creates and manages digital and print graphic assets for marketing campaigns, websites, social media, presentations, and brand initiatives. Develops concepts, layouts, illustrations, infographics, and mock-ups while maintaining brand consistency. Collaborates with marketing, creative teams, printers, vendors, and stakeholders; incorporates feedback, manages multiple deadlines, maintains organized files, and supports web, motion graphics, video, email, and occasional 3D design needs.

Executes approved creative concepts, templates, and brand guidelines across digital, presentation, and print formats. Designs polished decks, builds reusable templates, maintains typography and layout consistency, prepares final files, incorporates feedback, and manages multiple assignments under tight deadlines. Requires strong Adobe Creative Suite and Figma skills, attention to detail, responsive communication, and availability during Eastern Time business hours.

Leads hands-on visual art experiences for boys ages 6–12, including sculpture, painting, illustration, graphic design, and digital media. Designs activities, demonstrates techniques, supports creative projects, manages studio materials, maintains health and safety practices, documents programming, and adapts instruction to participant needs. The role also contributes to program development and engages youth through inclusive, confidence-building artistic instruction.

Leads creative design projects producing technical graphics, diagrams, illustrations, layouts, branding, digital experiences, communications, reports, briefings, and training materials. Translates complex engineering information into clear visual products aligned with government and corporate standards. Collaborates with marketing, web development, and leadership teams, mentors junior designers, maintains quality standards, and stays current with design trends and tools.

Creates graphic, layout, illustration, typography, photo-compositing, design-system, and social media assets. Collaborates with designers, illustrators, animators, art directors, and account teams to develop concepts, apply brand systems, adapt designs across digital platforms, prepare production files, meet deadlines, and communicate design decisions. Requires strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, Figma familiarity, AI tool familiarity, and a diverse portfolio.

Manage budgeting, scheduling, procurement and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment for construction projects. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and project managers; develop and track FF&E budgets, maintain finish standards, prepare room finish schedules, select fabrics, perform space planning, and ensure timely installations and regulatory compliance.
