You will play a key role in researching, understanding and explaining EU policies and political developments through clear, accurate and engaging content, with a strong focus on digital-first formats and events.
Your responsibilities will include:
Researching EU policies, legislative processes and political context to support content creation for EU communication projects and multi-countries campaigns
Writing and editing high-quality content in English for multiple formats/channels, including: press releases, digital articles and web content, reports and briefing materials, newsletters, social media content, audiovisual and event-related script
Creating digital-friendly content that is structured for online reading, adapted to different platforms, and aligned with project objectives.
Applying SEO best practices (keyword research, headlines, metadata, readability, internal linking) to improve content visibility and performance across digital channels.
Monitoring EU policy and political developments to identify relevant news angles, stories and updates for digital and press content.
Conducting desk research and interviews, and working with policy experts, stakeholders and colleagues to gather reliable information.
Liaising with event organisers to ensure policy coherence and alignment of event programme.
Briefing event speakers and other event stakeholders.
Working closely with content strategists, editors and digital teams to ensure content is optimised for distribution, performance and audience engagement.
Using analytics and performance insights to refine content over time and improve reach and impact.
Ensuring all content meets high quality standards and complies with EU style guides and institutional requirements.
Desired profile
Degree in communications, journalism, political science, EU affairs or a related field.
Proven professional experience in writing, editing and content development, ideally in an EU policy, institutional or public affairs environment.
Excellent command of English, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and audience-appropriate content across a range of formats and channels.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively and engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
High level of accuracy, sound judgement, adaptability and a proactive approach to delivering quality work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
