- Lead Financial Strategy: Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning to align with growth goals and ensure capital efficiency.
- Drive Fundraising: Support CEO in equity/debt financing, preparing models, data rooms, and investor/Board materials.
- Build Infrastructure: Bring accounting and tax in-house, transitioning all duties and responsibilities from third-party accounting provider.
- Deploy AI systems to augment the team and improve efficiency. Design scalable systems, processes, and controls for growth and GAAP/regulatory compliance.
- Guide Strategy: Provide insights on GTM, product, hiring, and expansion, collaborating with Sales, Product, and Operations for ROI.
- Ensure Excellence: Oversee accounting, FP&A, tax, and audits; implement KPIs and dashboards for SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV).
- Manage Risk: Establish policies for cash, expenses, vendors, and compliance to extend runway and reduce exposure.
- Lead Team: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering ownership and innovation.
- Strategic & Fluent: Master SaaS metrics, especially cohort analysis, unit economics, sales pipeline KPIs, and SaaS-specific GL classifications.
- FP&A professional: You understand how to create a narrative for the numbers and are hyper-focused on forecasting the future.
- Fundraiser: Proven success with venture capital raises and investor/Board relations.
- Operator: Comfortable owning models and payroll while presenting to the Board.
- Leader: You are an excellent leader to your direct reports.
- Collaborator: You partner with peers and partner cross-functionally to drive revenue and efficiency.
- Builder: Excel in lean environments, improving systems, and managing ambiguity.
- 10+ years in finance.
- 5+ years in senior leadership (VP Finance, Head of Finance, or CFO).
- Experience scaling Series A–C B2B SaaS companies between $30MM and $100MM+.
- Expertise in FP&A, fundraising, investor relations, and Board management.
- Proven ability to scale finance systems and ensure audit/compliance readiness.
- Strong accounting knowledge and SaaS metrics expertise (ARR, CAC, LTV).
- Exceptional Excel skills; familiarity with AI finance tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and executive presence for diverse stakeholders.
- Track record of mentoring high-performing finance teams.
- Experience taking a company from growth stage to IPO or strategic exit.
- Familiarity with global expansion, including international tax and compliance.
- Prior experience in legal tech, AI/ML, or other regulated industries.
