Job Summary
The Van Sales & Distribution Officer is responsible for driving direct sales through efficient van distribution. This role involves managing stock, building strong customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and achieving sales targets. The officer will also handle cash transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely deliveries while maximizing market coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Distribution
Ø Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
Ø Deliver and distribute products to customers in assigned routes.
Ø Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory.
2. Customer Management
Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
Ø Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
3. Merchandising
Ø Ensure proper product display and visibility in customer outlets.
Ø Replenish shelves and maintain agreed planograms.
4. Inventory Management
Ø Manage van stock levels accurately and conduct daily inventory reconciliations.
Ø Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) method is applied to avoid product expiry issues.
5. Cash Handling & Reporting
Ø Collect payments and issue receipts for cash and credit transactions.
Ø Submit daily sales reports, including sales volume, customer feedback, and competitor activity.
6. Market Intelligence
Ø Monitor competitor activities and provide feedback on pricing, promotions, and new products.
Ø Provide suggestions for the management team on potential improvements or new product launches.
7. Compliance & Safety
Ø Adhere to company policies, especially regarding safety, security, and vehicle management.
Ø Maintain the van in good working condition and ensure timely servicing.
Requirements
Ø Diploma or HND (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).
Ø 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in FMCG or related industries.
Skills:
Ø Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ø Good numerical and reporting skills.
Ø Basic knowledge of merchandising and distribution.
Ø Valid driver’s license.
