Cox Automotive is looking for a talented and passionate User Experience Designer to intern alongside our team of professionals. In this role, you will be a member of a cross-functional team tasked with designing experiences for the Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book brands. The right candidate for this job is detail-oriented and thorough in thinking through how experiences should work for our consumers. You should be able to design for consumers across devices and advocate for user-centered design techniques and data-driven decision processes.

Responsibilities
- Be an active member of a cross-functional team to analyze consumer, client, and business needs and translate them into high quality design solutions that deliver value for the business
- Deliver interactive designs that make complex tasks easier and that align with best practices in the market
- Create design deliverables such as wireframes, prototypes, mockups, specifications, process flows, mood boards, user personas, icons, and finished artwork
- Work with design system assets, such as icon libraries, reusable app components, style guides, and brand standards
- Participate in regular design reviews and clearly rationalize design choices
- Support product development by responding to day-to-day questions from developers, product managers, and team leads
- Strive to understand technical, business, and time limitations, and design within these constraints
Minimum Qualifications
- Major in Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field.
- A portfolio that demonstrates aptitude designing for digital media (responsive web and mobile apps)
- Proficient with Figma
- Familiarity with text-to-prototype tools
- Ability to partner with Product teams and leverage tools for rapid prototyping for the purposes of research, discovery, and experimentation
- Knowledge of AI and agentic design practices, such as model limitations, guardrails, evals, and feedback loops.
- Knowledge of current UX design trends across web and mobile platforms
- Solid understanding of graphic design principles and best practices
- Flexibility and openness to feedback from cross-functional team members
- Knowledge of iterative software delivery methodologies like Agile
- Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work on concurrent projects and quickly prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Independent self-starter
- Attention to detail and follow-through on completion of tasks
- Understanding of mobile human interface guidelines (Apple's HIG and Google's Material Design) and current possibilities and limitations of hardware and operating systems
USD 23.65 - 35.48 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $23.65 - $35.48/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
