Responsibilities:
- Underwrite Cyber risks and other Financial Lines (D&O, EPL, E&O, Crime, Fiduciary) in accordance with underwriting guidelines, delegated authority, and reinsurance requirements.
- Assess moderately complex risks and make recommendations for underwriting decisions, with complex cases referred to more senior underwriters.
- Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions for new and renewal business to ensure profitable growth.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and agents in the region.
- Contribute to the team's marketing plans and projects, helping to identify market opportunities and regional trends.
- Ensure accurate and timely issuance of underwriting documentation and maintain high-quality data in all relevant systems.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, and the GRS Global Financial Lines and Cyber teams, to inform underwriting decisions.
- Continue to build underwriting expertise through internal and external resources.
- Experience: Approximately 3 years of dedicated underwriting experience, preferably within Financial Lines.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong foundational knowledge of Cyber and Technology E&O risks.
- Familiarity with other Financial Lines including D&O, EPL, EYO, Crime, and Fiduciary is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of pricing tools and risk profiling methodologies.
- Intermediate skills in risk assessment, data analysis, and developing commercial terms and conditions.
- Market & Regional Expertise:
- Demonstrated knowledge or ability to quickly learn the Puerto Rico and LATAM insurance markets, including broker dynamics.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with external partners and internal teams.
- Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Language Requirements:
- Fluent in both Spanish and English.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
