Third Party Risk Manager

Hybrid working with up to 3 days per week working from home

Salford Quays Manchester or Kirkstall Forge Leeds

9-month fixed term contract

Salary £64,200 - £80,200 per annum dependent upon experience

Full time 37.5 hours per week

We’re looking to appoint an experienced third party risk manger who can bring best practice in supporting the wider risk and assurance team as well as working on life policies.

How you’ll help us make health happen

  • Lead the development of Procurement’s risk management strategy and internal controls framework within a third party risk management setting.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Procurement Policy and the Suppliers Outsourcing Policy in relation to Third Party Risk Management
  • Understand and the requirements and respond to changes required of a firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, Prudential Regulation Authority and Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Understand wider regulatory requirements e.g. from the CQC, ICO or HSE.
  • Own the Third Party Risk Management controls for the Procurement function and relating to third party risk landscape acting as a single point of expertise.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of appropriate MI and reporting, to accurately reflect the third party risk management control environment.
  • Contribute to the use of and accurate data stored in the Procurement Risk Tools e.g. Process Unity.
  • Support ICRMA and continuous monitoring activity for the Supplier Enterprise Policy  
  • Provide Support and advice in relation to internal and external risk factors and, respond to the needs of the business in relation to third party risk and market disruption.
  • Provide regular support and guidance to the category teams in relation to the third party risk management process.
  • Act as trusted business advisor and respond to current and emerging risks across the third-party landscape.
  • Support internal audit activity and controls testing on behalf of Procurement.
  • Work closely with other members of the Centre of Excellence team.
  • Support the Incident Management and Risk reporting process on behalf of Procurement.
  • Support with submissions and the management of Local, Functional, BINS/ BISL, MU and Group governance committees.
  • Support, and as required, lead on the production of committee materials and chairing responsibilities.
  • Deputise on behalf Risk, Policy and Governance Manager when required.
  • There will be a requirement to travel from time to time to visit Bupa’s offices in addition to the role holder’s office location. There will also be a requirement to travel to meet suppliers and stakeholders.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A proven Third-Party Risk Management background, with experience in working with supplier assurance and risk management frameworks.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of the requirements set out in the FCA (SYSC 8/13) and PRA handbook.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and the tools and techniques used to improve them.
  • A background in Procurement is desirable.
  • An appetite to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communicator with self & social awareness
  • Customer focused.
