Business Need / Purpose of Role
To ensure that effective and proper financial procedures and systems are established with good corporate governance and internal controls are enforced in accordance with Group policies and guidelines to support business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Head and manage all financial, taxation and funding matters in Thailand according to ISS Group policy
- Ensure timely and accurate month end closing and reporting
- Review journals, reconciliations and monthly schedules
- Lead, manage and mentor the junior accountant
- Verify all financial transactions are updated into the financial system in a timely manner
- Support local and regional management on financial analysis and budget process
- Support regional/Group requests for financial data/reports
- Develop and implement continuous improvements initiatives and internal controls to enhance business processes
- Work with Operations department to ensure compliance with established group policies and standards
- Lead in internal and external audits
- Ensure local statutory compliance requirements are met
- Review and authorize credit facilities for new customers in concurrence with the GM and in accordance with ISS group policy
- Approval for sailing – to alert GM / Operations Manager / Port Manager where approval for non-secured client is required
- Monitor that prefunding is received from the principal
- Any other ad hoc project assign by the management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good knowledge of IFRS and Thailand tax
- Working knowledge of local language
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Able to work independently as well as being a proactive team member
- Hands-on and can-do spirit
- Managing KPIs set by management
Education & Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in financial accounting and internal controls
- Experience in the maritime industry
- Experience in a multi-national, multi-cultural organization
