We are looking for an Individual Functional Test Manager to lead functional test delivery across assigned projects, workstreams, or client implementations. This is a hands-on functional test leadership role focused on test strategy, planning, execution oversight, quality governance, risk management, and release readiness.
You will define and execute the functional test approach for your allocated scope, ensuring test coverage, traceability, defect management, evidence, reporting, and sign-off are delivered in line with FNZ SDLC and project delivery expectations. You will work closely with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Solution Consultants, Analyst Testers, Infrastructure, Release Management, and client stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.
What You’ll DoAs an Individual Functional Test Manager, you will take ownership of functional test delivery for your assigned project or workstream, ensuring testing is planned, executed, evidenced, governed, and reported to the required quality standards.
- Define and own the functional test strategy and test approach for assigned projects, workstreams, or client implementations.
- Lead functional test planning, estimation, scope definition, prioritization, and execution oversight in line with the SDLC.
- Ensure testing artefacts such as test plans, scenarios, cases, execution evidence, defect updates, traceability, and closure reports are produced to agreed standards.
- Manage functional testing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, blockers, and residual quality risks for your allocated scope.
- Provide clear, timely, and metrics-driven reporting on test progress, execution status, defect trends, coverage, quality gates, and release readiness.
- Engage with project, delivery, client, and internal stakeholders to agree the QA engagement model, test scope, entry and exit criteria, dependencies, and execution approach.
- Support defect triage and issue resolution through evidence-based analysis, impact assessment, and recommended actions.
- Coordinate functional testing sign-off readiness by validating scope coverage, execution results, defect position, residual risks, and exit criteria.
- Ensure required test environments, test data, and access needs are identified, requested, and available in line with execution timelines.
- Assess testing impact of change requests and ensure functional test plans, estimates, scope, and evidence are updated through change management.
- Maintain strong test governance through quality gates, functional test metrics, progress reporting, and stakeholder visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement within your functional test scope to improve test coverage, execution discipline, defect prevention, and delivery predictability.
- Provide day-to-day functional test directions to Analyst Testers and project contributors without direct line-management responsibility.
- Coach and support project team members on test design, coverage, traceability, evidence quality, defect management, and risk-based prioritization.
- Capture and share functional testing knowledge, key decisions, assumptions, lessons learned, and recommendations with relevant stakeholders.
