Technical Program Manager IIIIntroduction to the teamOur Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools that deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.
Within this organization, the EG Metrics Platform (EGMP) team in the Data Platform organization is on a mission to build Expedia Group’s enterprise-wide semantic layer — a centralized metrics platform that standardizes how business metrics are defined, computed, governed, and consumed across the company. As the single source of truth for critical business metrics such as bookings, revenue, visits, funnel progression, and conversion, we power executive reporting, experimentation, BI dashboards, and self-serve analytics at scale. Semantic layers are increasingly vital in the age of LLMs and AI agents because they reduce hallucinations, enforce consistency, and enable trusted metric discovery. Our team is at the forefront of this shift, building an AI-powered semantic layer with agentic capabilities for natural-language metric exploration, intelligent anomaly detection, automated operations, and governed AI-ready data access.
In this role, you will:- Lead planning and delivery of moderately complex, cross-functional technical programs across multiple teams, aligning scope, priorities, timelines, and success metrics to business outcomes.
- Own delivery mechanisms for EGMP initiatives spanning governance, onboarding experience, adoption, reliability, cost transparency, and ecosystem integrations.
- Create visibility through dashboards, status reporting, milestones, dependency tracking, and structured decision-making forums that improve accountability and delivery predictability.
- Partner across engineering, product, analytics, experimentation, and platform teams such as Pulse, TnL, Data Quality, OpenMetadata, and Yield & Analytics to drive aligned execution on shared priorities.
- Influence trade-off decisions without formal authority by using data, context, and structured communication to bring clarity to ambiguity and keep programs moving forward.
- Apply systems thinking to understand end-to-end platform flows, technical dependencies, upstream and downstream impacts, and architectural or operational risks early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure operational readiness is built into program execution by partnering with engineering teams on monitoring, resiliency, incident readiness, learnings from production issues, and delivery risk mitigation.
- Drive programs that strengthen EGMP as a governed metrics foundation, including work related to certification, metadata quality, data quality integration, lineage, access controls, and authorized data usage.
- Drive programs that improve the speed and safety of onboarding, including sandbox or pre-production workflows, reliability frameworks, duplicate detection, and better discovery or explorer experiences.
- Support adoption and consolidation efforts that establish EGMP as the single source of truth for reporting and experimentation metrics across Expedia Group.
- Use metrics and insight-driven narratives to identify risk, guide prioritization, support leadership reviews, and improve execution health across platform programs.
- Contribute repeatable playbooks, templates, governance mechanisms, and process improvements that help scale TPM effectiveness and delivery excellence across the EGMP portfolio.
- You have 5+ years of experience leading technical programs with cross-functional dependencies in platform, infrastructure, data, analytics, or similarly complex engineering environments.
- Prior technical background and core understand of SDLC is a foundational requirement for success in this role
- You have experience planning and delivering moderately complex programs across multiple teams, including managing timelines, dependencies, risks, milestones, and execution reporting.
- You are skilled at building clarity and accountability through dashboards, status communication, governance mechanisms, and structured operating rhythms.

- You have strong technical fluency and can understand distributed systems, APIs, services, data flows, architecture discussions, and operational risks well enough to ask the right questions and surface gaps early.
- You use data and metrics to make program decisions, identify trends, surface risks, and tell a clear story to technical and leadership audiences.
- You have experience operating effectively in ambiguous environments and creating structure that helps teams move forward with confidence.
- You communicate clearly and concisely across different audiences and can translate complex technical or delivery topics into actionable updates and decisions.
