About this opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong expertise in telecom operations support systems to join our team. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge Ericsson Network Manager products in a dynamic, cloud-enabled environment, supporting multi-vendor telecom networks.
You will play a key role in maintaining high service availability across complex telecom environments, working closely with stakeholders to resolve operational challenges, support continuous improvement, and contribute to reliable network performance in a 24x7x365 setting.
What you will do
- Manage and support Operations Support Systems (OSS), including Ericsson Network Manager (ENM), OSS-RC, Nokia NetAct, Huawei U2000, N2000 and M2000 products.
- Handle fault, performance, configuration and access management across multi-vendor network nodes.
- Administer and maintain telecom network infrastructure, including Linux and Solaris and Windows environments.
- Operate within cloud environments, supporting seamless integration, performance and service availability.
- Manage backup solutions and architecture, including Veritas Cluster Solution.
- Oversee hardware including HP C7000 Enclosure, rack-mounted servers and EMC Clarion, VNX and Unity storage systems.
- Monitor and analyse network KPIs and telecom statistics, including manual calculations where required.
- Manage incident resolution and change requests across all severity levels within SLA timelines.
- Lead, mentor and support team capability development through competence roadmaps and continuous improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including handling negotiations and delivering presentations confidently.
You will bring
- 8-12 years' telecom industry experience with strong OSS exposure.
- At least 2 years' hands-on experience with Ericsson Network Manager (ENM), OSS-RC, Nokia NetAct, Huawei U2000, N2000 and M2000 products.
- Database administration experience in Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, SybaseIQ or similar.
- Strong knowledge of (FCAPS) fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security management for multi-vendor networks.
- High degree of proficiency with Linux and Solaris and Windows operating systems.
- Strong scripting skills in shell, python, PowerShell with focus on automation.
- Familiarity with cloud and virtualisation environments and deployment models such as VCenter.
- Experience with Veritas Cluster Solution or similar high availability architecture.
- Backup management using NetBackup/ Oracle Data Protector.
- Knowledge of Australian Signals Directorate Essential 8 (ASD E8) baseline security mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of HP C7000 Enclosure, rack-mounted server hardware and EMC Clarion, VNX and Unity storage platforms.
- Strong understanding of telecom networking concepts, including Core, Radio, & Transmission functionalities.
- Deep knowledge of Ericsson Network IQ, including ENIQ Server and ETL functionalities.
- Excellent understanding of SAP Business Intelligence or similar reporting tools.
- Proven ability to analyse and manage NE KPIs and telecom statistics.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management, negotiation, presentation and business communication skills.
- Experience working in a 24x7x365 operational environment with rostered after-hours on call.
- Proven leadership capability with team management experience.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with additional multi-vendor NMS platforms such as Fujitsu, Aviat, Ceragon, Cisco, Marconi/Motorola and Alcatel-Lucent systems will be highly regarded.
