Ericsson is seeking a highly skilled MS Core Cloud Specialist - VAS to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This role focuses on multi-vendor VAS platforms including messaging, charging, roaming, API gateway, voicemail, eSIM, and IoT services, supporting mission-critical value-added services for Australian customers.
What you will do• Provide L2 operational support for VAS platforms, ensuring high availability and service continuity• Perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation for application, platform, and network-related incidents• Restore services within agreed SLA/OLA targets by identifying and resolving technical issues• Analyze application, system, and network logs to determine root cause and implement corrective actions• Execute planned maintenance, software upgrades, patching, and configuration changes as per approved Change Requests• Prepare, review, and execute Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, including rollback and validation activities• Perform preventive health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance optimization of VAS platforms• Support Incident, Problem, Change, and Major Incident Management processes in line with best practices• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical incidents and recommend permanent fixes• Coordinate with L1 Operations, L3 Engineering, OEM vendors, and customer teams for issue resolution• Support platform administration including application services, interfaces, databases, certificates, and system configurations• Troubleshoot telecom protocols and interfaces such as SIP, SMPP, SS7, Diameter, HTTP/HTTPS, and REST APIs• Validate service functionality after maintenance activities and ensure successful post-implementation verification• Monitor platform performance, identify potential risks, and proactively mitigate service-impacting issues• Support Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BCP), backup, and restoration activities• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort• Participate in technical bridge calls, customer meetings, and OEM discussions during critical incidents and planned activities• Ensure compliance with security policies, operational standards, and audit requirements• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to L1 teams while mentoring junior engineers• Support multi-vendor VAS platforms including Ericsson, Nokia, Mavenir, Mobileum, Ribbon, Agnity, Apigee, Movius, and NVP technologies• Ensure accurate incident documentation, timely stakeholder communication, and adherence to Ericsson Managed Services operational processes

Education and experience• Experience: 15+ years in telecom Value Added Services (VAS) or related network services, supporting large-scale carrier-grade environments
Mandatory technical skills• Strong hands-on experience with telecom VAS platforms: SMSC, MMSC, OCS, IN, IVR, API Gateway, Voicemail, Roaming, eSIM, IoT• Solid OS administration skills in Linux / Unix environments• Experience supporting multi-vendor VAS platforms including Ericsson, Nokia, Mavenir, Mobileum, Ribbon, Agnity, Apigee, Movius, and NVP
