Summary of the position:

The Operation Tax Manager will manage the company's monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax compliance, and provide technical tax advice on various Brazil projects and operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Managing daily Tax Compliance reporting for Nextracker Brasil. This includes overseeing tax activities related to ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, and the review of ancillary obligations (“obrigações acessórias”) such as CIAP, GIA, Sped-Fiscal, GIS, EC, Inventory, Bloco K, and EFD Contribuições, among others. In addition, it will be responsible for coordinating tax compliance activities, ensuring adherence to company deadlines and internal controls.
  • Working closely with cross function areas and designing or improving tax compliance processes.
  • Understanding and evaluating the tax impacts and effects of business initiatives, transactions, and business proposals, considering a tax compliance perspective. Also, active participation in company projects, resolving doubts and proposing tax alternatives and solutions. Working on several projects impacting future strategy of the indirect tax function to mitigate adverse litigation.
  • Supporting Tax Audits (jointly with Local and Global teams);
  • Performing tax research and analysis on special projects as needed.
  • Work with other stakeholders, including corporate tax team, accounting team, supply chain and other operation teams, to prepare tax calculation records, reconciliation of tax returns and ensure accuracy.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • Brazilian Chartered Certificated Accountant
  • +6 years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm.
  • Significant experience in Brazil tax environment (ICMS, ICMS ST, PIS, COFINS and ISS). Additionally, federal and state income compliance experience, ideally in a public account or corporate setting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax laws in a business setting, in English, including the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of account reconciliation and analysis of book-tax difference.
  • Knowledge of a variety of tax research and tax compliance software programs.
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
