SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of SMIT, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.
Leidos is looking to hire a Systems Administrator Mid in Iwakuni, Japan to join our SMIT program. The Systems Administrator Mid will monitor the infrastructure and network by responding appropriately to alerts and events and will coordinate operational designs, develop support plans, coordinate implementations, and provide second level support for Local Area Network (LAN), Base Area Network (BAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions encompassing heterogeneous platforms.
Other duties and responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
Develop system support requirements by reviewing and analyzing customer business processes and evaluating available Enterprise Services (ES) and supplier capabilities.
Participate in system support design and performance evaluation reviews.
Monitor and maintain security and integrity standards and controls.
Assist in the evaluation, testing and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer need.
Keep abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends.
Collaborate with Cyber Security team (Compliancy Section) after patching / remediating systems to initiate ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) scanning and identify vulnerable machines
Use PsExec to connect to assets silently and run commands through cmd (command prompt) which can be used to patch/remediate assets without logging users off.
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM); monitor software deployments to ensure updates are properly installed to all systems; new software update files are copied to local patch repository for script / manual patching
Basic Qualifications:
High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
6 Years of Experience
US Citizen with an active DOD Secret security clearance
Must possess a Security+ certification and Microsoft 2 Star or Advanced level certification
