Role Purpose

Wasabi’s Inside Sales Representative plays a key role within our Japan Sales Team. In this role, you’ll combine proactive prospecting with strong closing skills to drive adoption of Wasabi’s next-generation hot cloud storage. You will engage new prospects, uncover their storage needs and buying timelines, and guide them toward free trials or qualified sales discussions. Approximately 80% of your time will be focused on managing and closing opportunities within the SMB and Mid-Market segment. The remaining 20% will be dedicated to identifying new opportunities, qualifying them, and passing them to the Channel Account Team for further development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hunting for new business, and takes ownership of moving deals forward.

The role will report to the Country Manager, Japan.


Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to warm inbound leads through email and phone outreach, qualifying opportunities and driving appropriate next steps.
  • Proactively generate new business through outbound prospecting and targeted outreach, identifying potential customers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for small and mid-market opportunities, from initial engagement and discovery through to deal closure.
  • Partner closely with Channel Account Managers and selected strategic partners to develop opportunities, progress deals, and drive successful customer outcomes.
  • Grow existing customer relationships by identifying opportunities to expand their use of Wasabi’s cloud storage solutions.
  • Build trusted customer relationships through consultative engagement, understanding business needs and effectively positioning Wasabi’s value proposition.
  • Generate free-trial accounts and book qualified meetings to support the broader sales teams
  • Support customer, partner, and industry events alongside the broader Sales team
  • Disciplined in maintaining accurate, detailed records in the CRM system

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technology inside sales experience, with experience managing opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline through cold calling, outbound prospecting, and proactive customer engagement.
  • Background in backup, storage with channel management experience is advantageous
  • Experience working with or selling alongside channel partners is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of opportunities and driving them to closure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a consultative approach to customer engagement.
  • Disciplined in planning, organization, follow-up, and CRM management.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and supporting customer and partner-facing events.
  • Native-level Japanese and working proficiency in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
