We are looking for a SUPPLY CHAIN MASTER DATA (SENIOR) SPECIALIST to join Metsä Group´s Master Data Team.
What Will You Do?
As a Supply Chain Master Data Specialist (with possibility of employment as a senior) at Metsä Group, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of our product master data across systems. You will be part of supply chain team responsible for maintaining high standards for data quality and contributing to the ongoing development of harmonized, efficient data management practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Master Data Management: Create, maintain, and update product master data in line with governance rules and business needs. Collect and validate required information to ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance across systems like SAP.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with departments such as IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Sales to ensure seamless data integration and support business goals.
- Data Quality and Analysis: Conduct regular quality checks, resolve discrepancies, and manage maintenance requests to ensure accurate, reliable product data. Contribute to data improvement initiatives.
- Process Improvement and Standardization: Support the standardization of product data practices, propose process enhancements, and help implement best practices for data governance.
- Project Participation – SAP 4/Hana Implementation. Contribute to Metsä Group’s program, supporting unified master data practices and shared maintenance processes across business areas.
Location: This position is based in Gdańsk (Poland). We operate in a hybrid working model, which includes the flexibility of remote work combined with the expectation to be present in the office at least three days per week.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Master Data Supply Chain (Senior) Specialist with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a drive for data accuracy and continuous improvement. You should be able to work independently and take initiative, while actively contributing as a collaborative and open-minded team member.
Key qualifications and attributes include:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in master data management, preferably in SAP environments. Knowledge of Product, Supply Chain, or Material master data is a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP (e.g., R/3, S/4HANA) and Excel. Familiarity with data governance tools and Power BI is a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and anomalies, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Problem Solving: Solution-oriented approach to data issues and process challenges.
- MDM Platforms: Knowledge of MDM (Master Data Management) platforms such as STIBO Systems STEP will be considered an advantage.
- Process Improvement: Proactive in optimizing data management practices and contributing to best practice development.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Sales.
- Supply Chain Understanding: Good knowledge of Product/Supply Chain processes is highly valued.
- Languages: Fluency in English required; other languages are an advantage.
