Role Overview
This role is responsible for supervising allergen and value-added production activities while ensuring daily targets, quality, hygiene and safety standards are met. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing people, controlling production flow and resolving floor-level issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily production activities across allergen and value-added product lines.
Oversee trim inspection, grinding, mixing, filling, packing, wrapping and labelling processes.
Ensure production teams meet output, quality, hygiene, downtime and efficiency targets.
Monitor production processes and ensure adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
Manage staff attendance, timekeeping, discipline, training, performance and daily task allocation.
Ensure acceptable personal hygiene, correct PPE use and compliance with process and product hygiene standards.
Identify deviations, production challenges and quality risks and escalate or resolve them appropriately.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to reduce waste, downtime and rework.
Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety procedures and site rules.
Communicate production performance, staff issues and operational challenges to management.
Requirements
Grade 12 is required.
Production or supervisory training would be advantageous.
Food, FMCG or meat manufacturing production experience is required.
Experience with allergen or value-added meat products is advantageous.
Strong people management, planning and floor supervision skills are essential.
Must be able to work under pressure in a physically active factory environment.
Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
Must be able to commute reliably to Malmesbury or relocate at own cost.
