The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Strategic Account Relationship Manager who will serve as a strategic partner to distribution and home/auto ecosystem partners. This role focuses on relationship management, program success, performance optimization, and supporting partner adoption of USAAs embedded insurance solutions and auto/home ecosystem. You will work horizontally to act as primary liaison between partners and internal teams, ensuring seamless execution of digital insurance programs and fostering long-term partner growth.

This role is responsible for developing, managing, growing, and nurturing, relationships between USAA and external strategic suppliers. These objectives include onboarding and operational support of strategic partner relationships, ability to identify opportunities for growth, and overall build strong relationship with key strategic partners including internal affiliates.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based on the San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ.; Colorado Springs, CO; Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC. or Tampa, FL campus. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Effectively initiates and manages supplier relationships with strategic supplier partners and internal business team members.

  • Monitors strategic account partners satisfaction, understands, and applies data-driven insights to influence strategies to drive the achievement of business goals.

  • Responsible for timely and appropriate resolution of escalations from strategic supplier partners.

  • Partners with team to work with research, analytics, finance, and staff area leaders to identify, influence and lead cross departmental improvement efforts.

  • Accountable for validating and coding moderate size and complexity invoices, requiring research to ensure accuracy and budget adherence in accordance with the contract and business objectives.

  • Identifies opportunities to document and facilitate improvements to processes and assists with developing functional policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Conducts periodic meetings with strategic account personnel to foster relationships and uncover opportunities to develop operational efficiencies of products.

  • Serves as a peer mentor and on-the-job trainer for other team members.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.  (Total of 10 years of relevant experience without bachelor’s degree)

  • 6 years of experience in supplier relationship management, to include supplier governance, procurement and/or supply chain management experience.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with applicable industry and products for the assigned functional area.

  • Advanced data analysis skills.

  • Accountability for complex tasks and/or projects required.

  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing and managing complex task and/or projects.

  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to influence decisions at senior leadership levels.

  • Strong issue resolution and follow-up skills.

  • Strong executive-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialog.

  • Advanced level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends required.

  • Travel may be required.

What sets you apart:  

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

  • Experience working in account management, partnerships, customer success roles.

  • Experience working in Fintech or Insurtech industry strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with new distribution concepts and strategies

  • Ability to manage a pipeline, track performance, and manage multiple partner relationships.

  • Demonstrated success in supporting or driving revenue growth through strategic account management.

  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence without formal authority.

  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and strategic thinking

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
