The Role

At NJM, we prioritize applicants looking to learn, collaborate and support our policyholders. We are seeking an attorney to join our Workers’ Compensation legal team with 3+ years of workers’ compensation litigation experience to defend formal claims venued in central/southern New Jersey.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defend the interests of NJM policyholders in New Jersey workers’ compensation court through the point of settlement or decision

  • Work with staff in the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents

  • Provide case recommendations, updates, and analysis to clients and internal Workers’ Compensation Claims staff

  • Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships

  • Perform other assigned duties

Job Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of prior litigation or legal experience.  Workers’ compensation litigation experience preferred

  • Currently licensed to practice law in NJ

  • Analytical ability and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and legal research skills

  • Ability to travel within the state and cover multiple counties

Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 (Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials)

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $110,785-$131,872

Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
