The Senior Software Engineering job designs, develops and maintains software applications and systems. With minimal supervision, this job collaborates with cross functional teams to define, design and implement new software features to meet user needs and business goals, and upgrade existing software to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient and scalable code and troubleshooting and debugging complex issues. This job also participates in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge with software engineering team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Designs and develops high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient codes.
- Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, methodologies and tools to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
- Partners with cross functional team of product managers, designers and different engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software.
- Suggests options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Builds and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience
- Experience building and scaling full-stack applications using the following languages/frameworks: React & typescript, Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python
Preferred:
- Experience building and scaling full-stack applications using the following languages/frameworks: React & typescript, Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python
- Strong foundation in relational databases, with hands‑on experience using PostgreSQL
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps delivery practices
- Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud‑native platforms
- Proficiency with Git‑based version control and collaborative development workflows
- Understanding of modern application architectures, cloud‑native patterns, and security best practices
- Experience or interest in developing, integrating, or enabling AI‑driven solutions in a production environment
Additional:

Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $115,000 - $145,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
