Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing projects across the full lifecycle—from ideation through commercialization—within Life Sciences platforms. The role covers a broad portfolio including localization initiatives, cost‑reduction programs, open innovation projects, and cross‑OpCo strategic programs.
This position ensures the on‑time, on‑budget, and in‑scope delivery of high‑impact programs, while continuously strengthening project governance, execution rigor, and organizational transparency within a China–Global matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end‑to‑end project execution in alignment with the company Toll‑Gate New Product Development (NPD) process, leveraging DBS tools to ensure disciplined, predictable, and high‑quality outcomes.
- Ensure projects meet defined scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives from concept through commercialization.
Governance & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and operate effective project governance structures, ensuring timely engagement and alignment of all critical cross‑functional and cross‑OpCo stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, risks, and decision points through clear, structured, and decision‑focused updates tailored to different stakeholder levels.
- Serve as a key interface within a China–Global matrix, balancing global standards with local execution priorities.
Risk & Issue Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and escalate project risks and issues.
- Drive issue resolution and risk mitigation using PSP, A3, or other structured problem‑solving methodologies.
Team & Resource Management
- Effectively motivate, align, and coordinate project team members to achieve strong performance and delivery outcomes.
- Manage project resources efficiently, ensuring accountability and optimal utilization across functions.
Documentation & Process Discipline
- Ensure all project documentation, decisions, and learnings are accurately maintained, properly archived, and compliant with company standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Engineering or manufacturing background, 6+ years of project or program management experience within instrumentation and/or medical device industries.
- Experience operating in a China–Global matrix organization strongly preferred.
- PMP and/or Agile certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven track record of end‑to‑end new product development management, with at least two successfully launched products.
- Strong engineering background; hands‑on experience in software, mechanical, or system engineering is an advantage.
- High attention to technical and execution details, beyond routine administrative or schedule‑tracking activities.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with solid risk identification and mitigation capability.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex matrix organizations, with strong stakeholder and executive communication skills.
