Job Summary:
Provides senior leadership for MEP preconstruction operations across multiple large or technically complex projects. Oversees estimating, budgeting, and constructability planning for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure alignment with project and client goals. Partners with operations, design, and trade partners to develop cost and delivery strategies that optimize system performance, schedule, and value. Builds and leads high-performing MEP preconstruction teams, advancing technical capability, consistency, and integration across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads multiple project MEP preconstruction teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across estimating, budgeting, and value engineering deliverables, and drives early collaboration between estimating, MEP operations, and project leadership on complex pursuits, resolving conflicts between design intent and field execution strategy and setting direction on final assumptions.
Directs strategic estimating and cost modeling for MEP systems on complex or high-value projects, ensuring integration with overall preconstruction strategies.
Collaborates with clients, design, operations, and trade partners to incorporate constructability, sequencing, and energy performance into preconstruction planning, and guides cross-functional alignment across estimating, operations, scheduling, safety, procurement, and field leadership, resolving competing priorities when needed.
Oversees implementation and continuous improvement of MEP preconstruction standards, databases, and benchmarking tools.
Develops and mentors MEP preconstruction managers and senior estimators to strengthen technical expertise and leadership capability.
Provides executive-level input on system pricing, escalation, and procurement strategies to support project acquisition and deliver, and champions use of MEP prefabrication on complex or strategic pursuits, aligning design, operations, and trade partners to maximize safety, schedule, and cost benefits while guiding teams on implementation best practices.
Represents the MEP preconstruction function in client and executive meetings, reinforcing DPR’s integrated and transparent approach to project delivery and contributes to development of standards, tools, and best practices that improve accuracy, consistency, and collaboration in MEP preconstruction, and contributes to development of standards, tools, and best practices that improve accuracy, consistency, and collaboration in MEP preconstruction.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
10 or more years of experience in MEP preconstruction, estimating, or project leadership required.
3 or more years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity required.
Certifications and Licenses:
