The successful candidate will help shape the future of the ViewPoint product line by strengthening its capabilities with the main emphasize on its Backend development, improving collaboration across global teams, and driving adoption of modern technologies including cloud and AI-oriented approaches.

This role is designed for a highly experienced engineering leader, and we are also open to candidates currently operating at Director or equivalent level in high-growth or startup environments.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
Lead a team of software engineers focused on backend development
Oversee the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
Ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable software delivery aligned with business goals
Drive improvements in engineering practices, quality, and delivery efficiency
Architecture & Modernization
Support the adoption of modern backend technologies, APIs, and scalable system design
Champion initiatives related to cloud transformation and AI-driven capabilities
Participate in and challenge architectural decisions, ensuring long-term scalability
Team Leadership & Growth
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers (including both direct reports and distributed stakeholders)
Build a strong team ownership mindset
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Drive hiring and team expansion as needed
Cross-functional & Global Collaboration
Work closely with global teams across multiple locations
Partner with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to align priorities and execution
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Hands-on software engineering experience
Proven leadership or people management experience
Strong understanding of software architecture, backend systems, and distributed systems
Exposure to cloud technologies and/or container-based environments
Interest or experience in AI/ML-driven development or data-intensive systems
Experience in medical device
Ability to work in a fast-evolving, ambiguous environment and drive transformation

Familiarity with legacy system modernization and modular/service-based architectures
Experience working in large, global, matrix organizations
