We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Archer Developer to join our team at Protective Life Insurance Company. In this role, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of complex applications within the Archer platform. You will leverage your advanced technical expertise and deep understanding of Archer's functionalities to deliver innovative solutions that address the company's evolving risk management needs. This role requires a strong understanding of application development principles, proven experience leading technical projects, the ability to mentor junior developers, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Application Development: Lead the design and development of complex, on-demand applications based on functional and technical requirements, including requirements definition, design, development, user acceptance testing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Advanced Archer Security Administration: Demonstrate expert knowledge of Archer's security structure (groups, roles, record permissions, and advanced security configurations). Manage and fulfill complex user access requests and security implementations.
  • Environment Management and Support: Provide advanced support for multiple Archer environments, including troubleshooting complex user issues, performing data imports and migrations, configuring enhancements to existing applications (questionnaires, fields, dashboards, data-driven events, data feeds, subscription notifications, and scheduled report distributions), and fulfilling other advanced administrative requests.
  • Change Management and Optimization: Lead and optimize change management processes for Archer applications, adhering to corporate and application-specific policies and procedures. Perform package promotion through multiple environments, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Proactively analyze existing applications and identify opportunities for improvements and enhancements. Research and recommend new technologies and approaches to optimize Archer implementations.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Archer developers, fostering their growth and development within the team.

Professional Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5 years extensive experience in application development, with a significant focus on the Archer platform.
  • Archer and industry certifications are highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of development standards and frameworks, including Agile methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior developers.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
