As a Technical Platform Manager – Data Management within Global Technology, Data & Analytics, you will define and drive the strategy for scalable, resilient, efficient, and user friendly data onboarding and data acquisition capabilities. You’ll be responsible for enabling teams to ingest, validate, monitor, and transform data via onboarding workflows across the enterprise (batch, online & streaming). This role is highly cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and data governance teams. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
What You'll Bring:
Deep understanding of data lake architectures, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, dbt)
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native data ingestion (batch/streaming) and observability services
5–8 years in product management, with at least 3–5 years in a technical or platform-focused role
Background in software engineering, data engineering, or computer science preferred
Strategic thinking with a systems mindset and empathy for technical users
Product management skills with a focus on platform enablement and internal tooling
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, or Aha!
Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams without authority
Strong prioritization, roadmapping, and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of data governance models (centralized, federated, mesh) and its application during data ingestion
Experience implementing data stewardship, ownership, and quality frameworks.

Impact You'll Make:
Technical Product Management (TPM) plays a critical role at TransUnion as the conduit between our Sales, Products, and Engineering organizations. Our products team define the “what and why” requirements and the TPM role partners with Products and Engineering on defining and executing the “how” technical requirements.
Data Management Strategy & Roadmap: Define and evolve the vision for Data Management capabilities, including ingestion capabilities, monitoring mechanisms, and validation & hygiene frameworks
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams across solutions and markets to understand needs and translate them into platform features.
Technical Requirements: Gather and prioritize technical requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability needs.
Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of Data Management platform features - from ideation to launch
Metrics & Optimization: Define KPIs to measure data onboarding performance, job success rates, latency, and user satisfaction; drive continuous optimization to reduce latency while improving job success rate.
Order Validation & Routing: Real-time decision-making for inventory checks, fraud detection, and fulfillment path selection.
Monitoring & Alerting: Define & Develop vision for data monitoring, data validation and data quality that can be leveraged across the Enterprise
