Job Description: 

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Fortinet Pre-Sales Engineer & Product Technical Specialist to support our distribution business. The role focuses on technical pre-sales, partner enablement, and customer engagement across the Fortinet portfolio.

The candidate will work closely with distribution-managed partners, system integrators, and enterprise customers, providing technical expertise, solution design support, and enablement to drive Fortinet adoption and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering

  • Act as a technical SME for the Fortinet security portfolio, including:
    • FortiGate (NGFW)
    • FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer
    • FortiSwitch & FortiAP
    • FortiEDR, FortiClient, FortiSIEM (as applicable)
  • Support pre-sales activities such as:
    • Requirement gathering and technical discovery
    • Solution architecture and design
    • Technical presentations, demos, and POCs
  • Assist sales teams with:
    • RFP/RFI responses
    • BOM creation and solution size
    • Licensing and subscription guidance

Partner & Customer Engagement

  • Participate in:
    • Distribution Managed Partner Round Tables
    • Partner Round Tables
    • Customer Round Tables
  • Engage directly with partners and customers to position Fortinet solutions effectively.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor during the sales lifecycle.

Training, Enablement & Onboarding

  • Deliver partner enablement and training sessions on Fortinet solutions.
  • Support new partner onboarding, ensuring technical readiness and alignment with Fortinet best practices.
  • Conduct Fast Track trainings and technical workshops.
  • Help partners prepare for and achieve Fortinet NSE certifications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, demo labs, and enablement material.

Collaboration & Vendor Interaction

  • Work closely with:
    • Internal sales and product teams
    • Fortinet vendor technical and channel teams
  • Stay updated with Fortinet product roadmap, new releases, and security trends.
  • Provide feedback from partners and customers to improve GTM and enablement strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet security solutions, especially FortiGate.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Network security concepts (Firewall, VPN, IPS, Web Filtering)
    • SD-WAN and Secure Networking
    • Endpoint and access security (basic to intermediate)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
    • Linux basics
    • Cloud security (AWS / Azure / GCP) – preferred

Certifications (Mandatory / Preferred)

  • Fortinet NSE 1 – NSE 7 (at least NSE 4/5 preferred)
  • Fortinet Fast Track certification
  • Higher NSE levels are a strong advantage.

Professional Skills

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a distribution or channel-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable handling multiple partners.

Experience Requirements

  • 8 – 10 years of experience in:
    • Pre-sales engineering
    • Network/security consulting
    • Technical specialist or solution engineering roles
  • Prior experience with network security or firewall technologies is mandatory.

Skills Required

  • 8-10 years experience in pre-sales engineering, network/security consulting, technical specialist, or solution engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet security solutions, especially FortiGate
  • Experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiEDR, FortiClient, FortiSIEM
