We are looking for Software Engineers who are passionate about solving challenging technical problems, building high-quality products, and turning cutting-edge AI technologies into experiences that make a meaningful difference for learners and educators around the world.

In this role, you will work across the full product stack and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and AI experts to invent, build, and scale new capabilities. You will have opportunities to work with modern AI technologies, cloud services, Windows experiences, and emerging on-device AI platforms while contributing to products used by classrooms worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and deliver high-quality software that powers learning and teaching experiences.
  • Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that enable engineers across the organization to achieve more.
  • Apply modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools, testing, and automation, to deliver high-quality code.
  • Own features throughout their lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and incident triage to drive engineering excellence and informed decision making.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, and partners across geographies to deliver impactful customer experiences.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven software development experience using one or more programming languages including, but not limited to: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including coding, debugging, data structures, algorithms, software design, and problem solving.
  • Understanding of software development principles and practices, including testing, code reviews, and source control.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers in a team environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience building large-scale cloud services, distributed systems, or customer-facing applications.
  • Experience working with AI, machine learning, or AI-powered product experiences.
  • Experience using modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools, automated testing, and deployment automation.
  • Solid customer focus with a data-driven approach to product development and decision making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
