Description
Job Summary: Provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities.?Conduct dormitory operations in accordance with Center operating policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Schedule: Saturday - Wednesday 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
- Conducts daily safety inspections of assigned area and reports/documents all Facility or Safety related issues.
- Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/ chore assignments, recreations activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation and programmed activities.
- Prepares reports, forms and annotates logs to ensure accurate documentation of daily observations of student’s progress, performance, behavior, emergency information, staff breaks, communication information, references to critical information contained in folders.
- Organizes, conducts and directs recreation/ non-vocational activities
- Facilitates small group discussions in Life Skills, peer mediation, conflict resolution, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: At least one year of experience in education or a similar field, working with students. Model the company Core Values.
Knowledge: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English. Must obtain CPR & 1st aid Certification
Skills Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledge of methods to instill appropriate behavior, work and study habits in adolescent students
- Knowledge of housekeeping techniques and management
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions fluently in English
