About the company

JunkRabbit is a tech-forward, AI-enabled junk removal marketplace. We are building the Uber for junk removal. Same model, same efficiency, applied to a different category. Instead of matching riders with drivers, we match customers with vetted independent haulers.

Customers book same-day service online or by phone, get transparent upfront pricing, and are matched with a hauler in their area. We do not own trucks or employ crews. The haulers do the work. We build the software, generate the demand, set the pricing, and own the customer experience. Behind the booking sits AI-powered call intake, a dynamic pricing engine built on a structured item catalog, automated partner payouts, and real-time supply matching.

Junk removal in the United States is a $10.5 billion industry that still runs on phone calls. Over 60 percent of operators have fewer than five employees, quoting is manual, and pricing is opaque. There is no dominant national player and no modern technology layer. We are building it.

We launched six months ago and have already reached millions in annualized run rate, making us one of the fastest growing marketplaces in the category. We are now expanding into San Francisco, Miami, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Raleigh.

The role

The COO owns the customer experience end to end and the operating systems that deliver it. This is a build role. You will design the processes rather than inherit them.

Customer experience. Own the full journey from inquiry through job completion and follow-up, including intake, quoting, booking, and issue resolution. Define service standards, instrument them, and continuously improve on delivery, resolution, job completion and repeat business metrics.

Intake and custom orders. Own the performance of our customer intake and the escalation paths behind it. Scope complex high-value orders and document learnings.

Operational systems. Find frictions in the operating model and eliminate it through automation and process design. Own workflow design, internal tooling, and SOPs that scale independently of any individual. Work closely with the CTO on improving workflows.

Hauler management. Own hauler acquisition, onboarding, quality standards, and retention as a platform function, including vetting criteria, performance thresholds and incentive design.

Market expansion. Own the city launch playbook, from supply density targets and demand generation to local pricing and the first ninety days in each new market.

Who we're looking for

  • Ready to roll up your sleeves. Early on you will personally answer customer calls, scope complex jobs and onboard haulers.
  • Ambitious, and clear-eyed about where this company is going. You understand the massive upside of joining at this stage and are prepared to dedicate your time.
  • An excellent communicator. You will be talking to customers, haulers, engineers, and investors, often in the same day.
  • Strong instincts for customer experience. You fix the underlying cause rather than the individual ticket.
  • A systems mindset. When you do something manually twice, your first thought is how to automate or document it.
  • Comfortable with numbers, including contribution margin per job, acquisition cost by channel, and supply utilization.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in operations in logistics tech, or relevant fields

Prior startup, marketplace, or customer-facing operations is a plus. What matters more is judgment, hustle, and how quickly you move.

Compensation and opportunity

  • Employee #3 at a company already generating millions in annualized run rate, with an active customer base and repeat demand.
  • Competitive equity commensurate with the scope of the role and the stage of the company, with significant upside potential.
  • Active pursuit of top-tier accelerator programs including a16z Speedrun and Y Combinator. The COO will participate directly in these program and be in the room with other co-founders in subsequent fundraisers.
  • Ownership of a core function in a $10.5 billion category with no established market leader.

Skills Required

  • 3+ years of relevant operations experience in logistics technology or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, haulers, engineers, and investors
  • Strong customer experience instincts and ability to resolve underlying process issues
  • Systems mindset with ability to automate and document recurring processes
  • Comfort working with operating and financial metrics, including contribution margin, acquisition cost, and supply utilization
  • Willingness to personally answer customer calls, scope complex jobs, and onboard haulers
  • Prior startup, marketplace, or customer-facing operations experience
